About Me
Most of the kids know me as Miss Weakland, but I recently married, and my new name is Mrs. Simms! I am excited to be in my seventh year of teaching at Johnstown in! Prior to teaching, I worked for 11 years as a Therapeutic Staff Support in the school district. I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I obtained a Bachelors Degree in General Education. In 2012, I decided that I wanted to obtain my teaching certificate. I attended the Teaching Certification Program at Saint Francis University. I have always had a passion for working with children and being the best positive role model that I can be.
I have a 5-year-old daughter, Ella, who will also be attending Kindergarten this school year and a 2-year-old son, Jaxon, who will start pre-school in the fall. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or concerns that you may have concerning your little ones.
