Keystone Exams - Students are required to be proficient on these exams beginning with the Class of 2022. The exams that are administered are Algebra I, Biology, and Literature. We administer the Literature Exam at the end of the students 10th grade year. The Algebra I and Biology are first administered the year the student completes the course. PSSA - Eighth grade students are required to take the PSSA's. They test in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. For more information, please click here.
NOCTI - National Occupational Competency Testing Institute - NOCTI exams test students studying in a career and technical program. The exams are administered at the end of the students senior year and the exam consists of an online, multi-choice exam (Written), and an exam that allows students to demonstrate their skills by performing individual jobs or tasks that demonstrate the skills needed for the specific occupation (Performance). Students achieve Basic, Competent or Advanced levels according to their test scores. Students who achieve at the Advanced level receive the Pennsylvania Skills Certificate, and student who achieve at the Competent level receive the Pennsylvania Certificate of Competency.
AP- Advanced Placement Exams are college-level exams on specific subjects and are administered in May upon the completion of an AP course taken. A high enough score will earn the student college credit at many colleges and universities.
SAT - The SAT is one of two standardized college admissions tests in the US. It is a globally recognized college admission test that shows colleges what you know and how well you can apply that knowledge. SAT's are typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. PSAT- The PSAT/NMSQT, or PSAT, is a practice test for the SAT that's offered every October for 10th and 11th graders. It also serves as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which awards $2,500 scholarships annually to high-scoring 11th graders. For more information, please click here.
ACT- The ACT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. It is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test. The purpose of the ACT test is to measure a student's readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.
