Exercises 3 to 9 on your Revision Booklet!
By the end of this lesson, I will:
have reviewed how to convert amounts into percentages and work out the percentage of a given amount.
be able to draw the reflection of an object using a mirror line (a line of symmetry).
In a reflection, an object and its image are on opposite sides of a line of symmetry. The line of symmetry is often called the mirror line.
Ex. The object and its image are the same distance from mirror line.
The mirror line for a reflection is exactly halfway between each point and its image.
We use this sign ' (we call it a dash) to show the image of a point.
Ex. F' (F dash) is the image / reflection of F.
C' (C dash) is the image / reflection of C.
By the end of this lesson, I:
will have reviewed how to use numbers to work out real life problems.
will be able to draw the reflection of an object using a mirror line (a line of symmetry).
may be able to draw the reflection of an object using different mirror lines (lines of symmetry).
Points on the mirror line stay where they are when reflected. These points are called invariant.
When a line or angle is reflected, its image is the same size.
When a shape is reflected, its sense (direction) is reversed.
Ex: When you look in the mirror, you right hand is on the left of your reflection.
Shapes can have more than one symmetry line.
Ex: An equilateral triangle has three lines of symmetry.

By the end of this lesson, I:
will have reviewed algebraic rules (i.e. properties of like and unlike terms, multiplying ad expanding)
By the end of this lesson, I:
will understand what rotating an object consists in.
may be able to draw the rotation of an object on a grid accurately.
In a rotation, an object is turned around a fixed point (the centre of rotation) to give its image.
Here the triangle is rotated through 90º around the point 0.

All incomplete work must be finished as
Homework for Monday.
