Dear Students and Families,

Welcome back to school! I hope that you all had a very enjoyable summer break! 

I am so pleased to be serving you again this year as the Girard Junior High School Counselor.  This is my sixth year as a school counselor in the Girard City School District, my 22nd  year as a school counselor, and my 29th year overall in public education.  Though I have a long tenure in education, I still strive to learn new things and improve my skills as a counselor every day.

Each year I select a quote to share with you - this year it is by Wilma Rudolph, an American sprinter who overcame childhood polio and went on to become a world-record-holding Olympic champion and international sports icon in track and field following her successes in the 1956 and 1960 Olympic Games:

"Never understimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit.  We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us."

You are all capable of amazing things.  As your school counselor, I am here to support you and encourage you to strive for your personal goals.  I am so excited for this new school year and what it will bring for each of us! Please reach out to me if I can help you in any way.
