Update (tweak) your Painted Picture based on the learnings thus far. Take a cue from Harsh’s model of the painted picture – which was to make Marico a leader in the Packaged Edible Oil Market (it wasn’t about numbers…it was about creating a category and becoming a leader in that space). His starting point was edible oil that was sold in Loose to the customers at the Point of Sale (retailers) and in tins to the retailers. His painted picture was edible oil sold in ready to use plastic bottles across the supply chain….
Start visualizing the market that defines your Painted picture.
Start describing your customers….their needs….how they buy…
Start sharpening your offerings that will give you the edge over competition.
Start working on describing how you want to run Sales & Marketing in the context of your organization.
Start identifying your constraints.
This is an iterative process, so try and circle through the entire process as quickly as possible, so that you can reflect on the same.
