Often you need access to reliable sites for information. Regardless of whether you need to research for class or just because, check out the sites on the "Resources" page on this site or access them from our "Library Resources" page for (free) reliable sources of information.
Mission & Goals
The Northwest Library's intent is to become comprehensive support to the school’s instructional programs. The Library provides a range of materials, development, and support to students and staff. The mission is to facilitate effective, independent use of information and resources while maintaining and encouraging a lifelong love of reading.
All students and staff are invited to use the Library for academic, curricular, instructional support and for independent reading/studying.
Resources
The Library offers a collection of print and non-print resources including nonfiction and fiction books, magazines/periodicals, and online databases. The Library’s non-fiction resources are selected with the intent to support the school’s instructional program/curriculum and independent reading. We encourage the use of the city library’s and the NebraskAccess’ resources (databases) for research, live-online tutor help, and language learning. (city library—you need a card and a PIN number to access; NebraskAccess you can use the super, secret code available in the Library).
To access our Library online, click "Links" from the NW homepage then Library Resources . This will bring you to the “bulletins” page of our Library. From here you can search and put holds on books (researcher), get ideas for trustworthy research sites, and find links to NebraskAccess and Grand Island's City Library etc.
