How to use a dictionary

Watch the video then use the glossary in your reading book to look up some of the vocabulary words in our reading book.

If you have a dictionary at home, have an adult give you a word to look up in the dictionary. Pay attention to the guide words, entry words, definitions, and example sentences.

If you don't have a dictionary visit the website www.dictionary.com and enter some words. Find how many definitions of the word there are. Do they show any example sentences using the word? Does it tell you if it's a noun, verb, adjective, etc?
