About me:
Welcome to my SSE Primary resource! My name is Jennifer de la Torre (many of my students call me "Mrs. D"). I have been working within the Gilbert Public School district for the past 19 years. I have taught elementary Special Education all of those 19 years. I am loving my current teaching position here at Superstition Springs, supporting students with learning disabilities!
I earned my bachelors and masters degrees in cross-categorical special education at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri - St.L Cardinals and KC Chiefs fan too!
I have lived in Arizona for 20 years now, where I met and married my husband, Adam. We have 3 beautiful children, James, 22, Alex, 22, and Kyra, 25! It is quite shocking to now be "empty-nesters" from our once very busy household!!! <3
