Please write these dates on your family calendar. Concerts & competitions are required activities.

July 30 (Thu) First day to bring instruments

July 30-Aug 3 Cello and bass players bring home instrument to school

Aug 3 (Mon) Students should have (and bring) all orchestra materials

Aug 11 (Tue) Curriculum Night @ GJHS

Aug 22 (Sat) Gilbert Town Fiddlers middle school auditions (optional)

Aug 24 (Mon) 8th Grade Disney Parent Meeting #1, 6pm (mandatory for students wanting to attend)

Sept 23 (Wed) 8th Grade Disney payment #1 due

Sep 24 (Thu) ** Orchestra Combined Rehearsal @ GJHS, daytime 

Sep 28 (Mon) ORCHESTRA CONCERT @ Gilbert High, 7pm

Oct-Nov TBD Pie & Poinsettia Fundraisers

Dec 6-7   District Honor Orchestra Auditions (optional)

Dec 14 (Mon) Poinsettia pick up immediately following the concert @ GHS

Jan 15 (Fri) 8th Grade Final Disney balance due; chaperone payment due  (8th gr)

Jan 15 & 16 District Honor Orchestra Rehearsals and Concert (by audition in December)

Mar 5 (Fri) 8th Grade only - ABODA Orchestra, Queen Creek HS, daytime (mandatory attendance)

Mar 11 (Thu) 8th Grade Disney parent meeting #2 (MANDATORY)

Mar 31-Apr 2 8th Grade Disney Soundtrack Session Field Trip

April TBD 7th Grade Orchestra field trip, daytime

May 7 (Fri) ** Orchestra Combined Rehearsal @ GJHS, daytime 

May 11 (Tue) ORCHESTRA CONCERT @ Gilbert High, 7pm

~ All field trips, festivals, and large group activities require students to have fewer than 3 infractions to attend. ~

** Combined Rehearsals take place a day before the scheduled concert. On combined  rehearsal days all cello and bass players who would like to use their "home" instrument on stage at the orchestra concert, MUST BRING SAID "HOME" INSTRUMENT TO THE COMBINED REHEARSAL DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. Any instrument not brought to school prior to each concert CANNOT be used on stage at the concert; arrangements will then need to be made for parent/guardian to transport a school instrument to and from school / the concert.  

Additional Advanced Ensemble Dates 

• 6th Grade Level Up assemblies (Jan 2027, daytime)

• 6th Grade Preview Night (Feb 2027)

• Advanced Ensemble also performs at each of the evening concerts listed above. 

• More Ensemble performance dates may be added as performance opportunities become available.
