Immunization Information

Immunizations are a crucial component in community health. Even with everything going on, it is important to remain up to date on vaccines. The document below explains the immunization requirements for school attendance.

Does my Student Need a Vaccine?

Generally vaccines are given on a very similar schedule across the state.

  • At 4 years old, children are given what are colloquially called "kindergarten shots".

  • At 11 years old (or prior to 6th grade), children are given additional vaccines.

If you are not certain whether or not your student requires a vaccine, you may

  • Call your pediatrician.

  • Email me to ask what I have on file.

Where to Get Immunizations

You have multiple options.

  • Call and schedule your pediatrician.

  • County Immunization Clinics give vaccines to all children regardless of insurance status.

  • There are also multiple clinics that provide vaccines for children without insurance.

The flyers below discuss a couple of your options and their current hours.
