You need to select 6 classes (a minimum of 5 for seniors) for a full schedule, and 7 classes if you are planning to take A-hour.
Fill in at least 2-3 alternates. If you do not put in alternates and your course is not available, a course will be selected for you.
Any student taking more than 6 credit bearing courses will be assessed a $250 fee per semester.
Do not enter courses you would like to take in summer school in the Academic Planner- tell your counselor and they will put in the recommendation.
Teacher Aides for juniors and seniors will not be approved during registration- please choose an alternate course you would take in the event a TA will not work with your requested courses.
SENIOR year- If you are interested in Release Time, a signed form is required at the time of registration. If you do not have your signed form, you must choose an additional course and a lunch.
Release Time is NOT guaranteed. Many factors can create a conflict making Release Time requests impossible.
The following policies are in place in regard to leveling down in Honors or AP courses:
Student and parent must discuss concerns with teacher
Student and teacher will create Academic Success Plan (ASP) to include action steps and additional resources when needed (recommended time is minimum of two weeks or at least one unit of study)
If at completion of ASP, parent, student, and teacher agree level change is appropriate, signed ASP and drop/add form must be completed and turned in
Leveling down will only take place after the 4 ½ week grading period and must be completed prior to the 9 week grading period
Talk to your TEACHERS!- Get their signatures! Ask your core and elective teachers what they would recommend and have them SIGN next to your request.
Talk to your PARENTS- Get their signatures! Discuss your future plans with your parents and ensure your requests align. Make sure they know what classes you are signing up for and expectations in classes. Have them SIGN the bottom of your form.
Talk to your COUNSELOR- Get your questions answered! Reach out to your counselor if you have questions about classes, programs of study, or a plan to make up needed credits for graduation.
