To share part of the different cultures within our hub, we created posters for display in our learning space. Each student is represented by introducing their name in Te Reo Māori, the flag from the country they connect to, saying where they are from in Te Reo Māori, their nation's national bird and a photo holding the flag. Students then completed the posters.
Our goal is for students to know what their flag looks like and means, what their national bird is and why and also to be confident in saying their name and where they are from in Te Reo Māori.
Throughout the year, we will learn about the cultures and languages of people in our hub and other cultures from around the world. Each day when we do our roll, we greet each other and ask how we are feeling.
