Write a reflection about ways to protect your identity, finances, and ways to identify counterfeit money or checks.

Reflection:

There are many companies out there in the world today that can help protect you from harmful predators, but there are also many simple and cheap ways to better protect yourself. Some of these may include looking around to see if anyone is watching you while at an ATM, never using free WiFi in public places or at a hotel, contacting your bank immediately when something comes up, watching for "shoulder surfers", and much more. There are also many ways to protect you, your business, and more from being scammed by counterfeit money. The United States Government has done a very good job at making new signs to show that a bill is real. Some of these include looking for color shifting ink on the number of the bill, a dead giveaway of fake money is if it doesn't have raised printing on the coat/collar of the president, bury printing and borders, the water mark on the RIGHT side of the bill, and one of the more important ones is the security thread- a strip on the bill which will say USA and the amount of the bill in vertical writing. There are many ways to protect ourselves than we think. All it may take is some patience, and maybe the fact that if you don't you could lose your identity, money, and be in big trouble with the law for something that you didn't do.
