The HS ELP students wanted to give back to our community. We brainstormed different ways that we might go about this, and eventually decided on one especially appealing option - spending time with people from an older generation to brighten their days and learn from their unique life experience. It is an opportunity to learn from the past so we can positively impact the future. We teamed up with Northcrest Community and have since met with them several times. Through our discussions, we have developed new friendships and discovered an enthusiasm for learning about each other’s vastly different, yet beautifully similar, lives. Whether we are simply doing a meet and greet over at Northcrest or they are bringing a group over here for a tour of our school, we have a great time together and have really enjoyed this opportunity and all of the learning that has resulted from it.
