Social Studies

Year at a glance..

Third-grade social studies continues teaching students to be successfully participating citizens in our modern world. We focus on communities over time—the ice age, American Indians, New World colonies—all the way to the present. We use skills from the areas of geography, history, economics and more to understand the many ways that we change the world—and how the world changes us.

So far this year we have learned how laws impact society, and we have learned about and how to use map features.
