You may have heard, or not heard, that I am known for being....a somewhat harsh marker. You also may have heard that I am known for...rants...about the SACE Board.

Treat this as a disclaimer. THIS.WILL.NOT.BE.A.CAKEWALK. I will push you to your potential, and if you trust me you will be successful. However, I am not a miracle worker, it will take time, effort, and energy on your part to be successful too!

I am mostly known as an English teacher at GIHS, I have been teaching Stage 2 English for 8 years. Don't despair, I actually hold a History degree from Flinders University! I know how to dance the SACE Board dance, and you need to work with me. When I give you feedback, it isn't personally attacking you, it is not designed to stifle your creativity, it is given to you to help you get better, to show you how you can develop as a writer, and to stroke the ego of the SACE markers.

There will be times that you feel I am the embodiment of the pictures to the left, but know that I am always in your corner and I will stick my neck out for you, but if you fail to deliver, or you slack off, you will feel the full force of Lake and you will not like it.

It is expected that students will submit all pieces of assessment before the end of school on the day specified by the teacher. I will not accept work that is submitted in the evenings or over the weekend. I assign plenty of time in class for you to complete your work- therefore it is expected you submit during school time.
