Abstract

Cell phones have changed the world for better or for worse. We use them every day for communication education and work. The purpose of this experiment was to examine the changes in cell phone usage as you get older and how your mood changes when you are on your phone. To do this project i made a survey asking the participant their grade and how many hours do they spend on their phone and how they feel when they get a notification ex: angry or curious ect. In my responses I found that the people that use their phones the most are 8th, 9th, and 11th graders. And the people that use their phone the least are 5th graders. Most people don’t care when they receive a notification. In conclusion my hypothesis was incorrect because the time you spend on your phone differs as you get older and does not consistently increase. In future studies you can test how your environment affects how many times you pick up your phone.
