Authentic Learning @ Griswold

The Communication Arts class is a high school elective. Students are working on many projects, both for their school and for businesses and the community. They are creating content for the many monitors throughout the school to help the district communicate with students and parents. Students are live-streaming school events and calling the play-by-play for sports with the support of local radio station KJAN. They developed a virtual tour of the Hitchcock House, that was part of the Underground Railroad, and continue to upkeep the Hitchcock House's website. There are many other in-school projects that they continue to work on as they have a large format printer and a large laminator.

Griswold students can apply to work at the Grindhouse - a coffee shop located in the school commons. The business class uses this real-world opportunity to learn accounting principles as well as business management.

The Agriculture Education program has a farm plot as well as a greenhouse where students plant and raise plants that are sold in the spring.
