"One of the nice things that is happening that I didn't even consider before would be the partnership between the students that have IEPs and the students that don't."

"Through the CAST program, I have gotten the opportunity to be a part of The Crossing. The Crossing is a student-run retail business. We partner with the Booster Club to sell their products, as well as creating products of our own to sell to the community. With this project, I have learned many social skills and group work strategies as much of my work is completed as collaborative projects with business professionals and my peers. I have been able to make many connections with community members to provide me with opportunities in the future. I have enjoyed the uniqueness of the learning opportunities within the CAST classroom- all projects are interactive and engaging with learning coming with trial and error within the projects themselves. This, to me, is much more beneficial because I love to just get to work, learn and figure out new things as I work.. Personally, I wish more classes included more of these learning styles in their classrooms."
~Cael
"Through CAST I have been given the opportunity to solve real world problems. This type of learning has taught me so much more than my traditional classes. My ability to create real world solutions and gain hands on experience has helped me to narrow my down my future endeavors. "
~Brodie
"Learning starts at a young age and we are very excited to give our students opportunities to explore and problem solve. Authentic learning connects the content and promotes all modes of learning. Our authentic learning experiences connect our students to businesses in our community, model for them how our learning is applied within the skill or trade, and explore what careers embed these problem solving skills. " ~Callie Anderson
"The thing I enjoy about authentic learning is that it's authentic, meaning that the lessons and learning come naturally based on the real life problem you are solving."
~Anna
