Google Classroom is an online, virtual classroom hosted by Google. Teachers create a classroom for each of their classes and students join this class via their District assigned Google account. This virtual experience allows teachers to host conversations, post assignments, share reading materials, and much, much more.
Please Note: If you have not yet logged in with your District Google account, please do so first.
Follow these steps to join a Google Classroom
Go to https://google.com and sign in with your District student account
Click on the "Waffle" icon in the top right hand corner (looks like a nine-square)
Select the Classroom icon from the drop down menu
Click next and accept any terms if this is your first time visiting Classroom
Select "I am a Student" or "I am a Teacher" (only select teacher if you are one)
If your teacher has already rostered you in their class, click Join on the classroom card on your dashboard
If your teacher has not rostered you already, but has sent you a join code, click the + symbol in the top right corner (hint: it's next to the waffle!)
In the pop-up box, enter the alpha-numeric code your teacher shared with you. This code is CasE sEnsitiVe (the codes are typically only lower case letters and numbers)
Troubleshooting: If you are receiving a message of "you are not allowed to join this classroom" you may have additional accounts signed into Google. Click the icon in the top right corner next to the waffle (typically the first letter of your first name if no profile photo) and ensure you are on your student account.
