Scholarship Information

Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must be pursuing a full-time course of study leading to a degree with a curriculum approved by the committee.

• The course of study must be preparing the student for a career in the surveying and mapping sciences.

• Previous recipients of the award may apply again.

Applying for the Scholarship

The George F. Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund will begin accepting applications in 2024 for scholarships to be awarded in the Spring of 2025.  Application packages may be sent via either U.S. Mail or email (preferred).  

Mailed applications must be complete and mailed in a single 8.5″X11″ (or larger) flat envelope, with applicant’s name & address shown as the return address.  Completed scholarship applications and packets must be postmarked by January 31.  Please do not send special delivery or certified mail, or any other means that require a signature. Application packages postmarked after this date will not be evaluated.  Selection and scholarship awards will be made in time for presentation at the LSAW Annual Conference.

Emailed applications must be received on or before 11:59 pm, January 31, Pacific Standard Time.  Application packets should be sent to  Info@gfwalkerscholarship.org.  Digital application packets should be sent in .PDF format.  They may be packaged in a .zip file, but must total less than 25mb in size, our email size limitation.
