Mandai sits in the north of Singapore, away from the CBD. That distance shapes the day: transport, start times, meal plans and weather backup all need more thought than an event in town.
For most corporate groups, a chartered coach from the office is the simplest option. It keeps everyone together, removes the worry about late arrivals, and lets the facilitator brief teams on the way. If people make their own way, send clear instructions, a meeting point and a contact number. Check car park arrangements with the venue if colleagues will drive.
Mornings are cooler and animals are often more active, which makes for a better trail. Plan a start that allows for travel, a short welcome, the main programme and a meal. Avoid an end time that sends people into peak-hour traffic.
Much of the zoo is outdoors. Singapore weather can change quickly, so decide in advance where the group will shelter in heavy rain, how the programme adapts, and who makes that call. Set a clear decision time. Discuss covered backup options with the venue when booking.
Remind participants to wear comfortable shoes, hats and sunscreen.
Plan water points or provide bottles.
Build in shaded rest breaks.
Have a first aid kit and someone trained to use it.
Ask the venue about group dining options and collect dietary requirements early. A shared meal at the end is a good place for the results announcement and debrief.
Confirm loading access, power and any restrictions on equipment or sound well before event day. An organiser that coordinates directly with the venue can handle this for you. Get Out! Events covers this in its Get Out! Events' zoo venue guide.
