Dr. Darryl J. Ford has a long history in Quaker education. He is a graduate of Friends Select School and received his B.A. and B.S. from Villanova University. After receiving his MA and Ph.D and in Education Administration from The University of Chicago, Dr. Ford served as the Headmaster and Executive Director at St. Gregory Episcopal School in Chicago before returning to Philadelphia as the Head of the middle school at Penn Charter. In 2007, Dr. Ford became the 7th William Penn Charter head of school before retiring in 2023. A few notable honors that Dr. Ford has received are: An appointment to the National Board for Education Sciences by President Barack Obama(2012), the St. Thomas of Villanova Alumni Medal (2021), and the award for Leadership in Service to Friends Education from the Friends Council on Education (2023).
