What is QYLC?

The Quaker Youth Leadership Conference is an annual event, aimed to provide a space for Quaker youth to engage in discussions, workshops, and activities that promote leadership development, community building, and spiritual growth. Participants in the Quaker Youth Leadership Conference will have the opportunity to explore Quaker values, principles, and practices, and will discuss issues relevant to their lives and communities. The conference will include sessions on peace and social justice, environmental sustainability, and other topics explored through a Quaker lens. The conference brings together students from Quaker schools across the country. Last year's conference was held at Sandy Springs Friends School in Maryland, with the theme "Our Past, Our Progress: Promoting Peace through Activism". This year's theme is "Quakerism: Past, Present, and Future!" The conference is being co-hosted by Penn Charter and Germantown Friends School. Participants will engage in a first day of introductions, tours, and a speaker. Day two is all about community connections: participants will explore different neighborhoods in Philadelphia, and will observe an alumni panel. Day three will center around student-led workshops before we reconvene as a community for a final Meeting for Worship at GFS.
