The Mentoring and Research Opportunities for Careers in Coastal Science (MROC2S) program at Georgia Southern University is a part of the National Science Foundation's Research and Mentoring for Postbaccalaureates (RaMP) initiative. Our program aims to develop a new generation of coastal scientists by providing enriching experiences for students who have recently completed their undergraduate degree. Through a combination of research, mentoring, and networking with local program partners, the MROC2S program will allow fellows to directly engage in meaningful research activity to prepare for a career in coastal science!

The MROC2S program is a year-long research and mentoring program designed for students who have recently completed an undergraduate degree and are looking for high-value postbaccalaureate experience in the field of coastal sciences. Fellows will join a cohort of ten students for the year-long program centered in the Department of Biology at Georgia Southern University. Applicants with minimal research experience, those from underrepresented groups in STEM, graduates of research-limited institutions, or those who have otherwise faced barriers to entry into research are encouraged to apply!
