Wagner Middle School Counselors support the academic, social/emotional and college/career readiness of all students on our campus. We collaborate with teachers, parents, and students to identify areas of need and facilitate skill building through classroom guidance and small group support. Counselors work with students on future planning and academic goal setting. Our counseling team collaborates with Wagner families to provide mental/emotional health resources and community based support. Our role in supporting every student to be empowered allows us to promote a safe educational experience for our Wolves.
The WMS counseling team consists of two Professional School Counselors and a Licensed School Based Therapist who work with campus administration to provide preventative Social Emotional Learning for all grade levels. Our Counselors have served on various district and campus leadership committees which have helped develop our Comprehensive School Counseling Protocols and campus PBIS systems. The WMS Counseling team supports transitioning students with grade level presentations and onboarding events such as Camp Wagner, 5th Grade Fine Arts Showcase and the EVHS Elective Fair. We also partnered with the Georgetown Rotary Club to design and create a Peace Garden that promotes our student strengths with GISD's Learner Profile and PACK Pride.
