As a member of the East View Track team each athlete is expected to:
Maintain a good academic standard – pass ALL classes. Students who earn a grade below 70 may not participate in meets. You still practice.
Athletes in the athletic period are required to maintain a 75 average in all classes or tutorial attendance will be mandatory until average is met. For those unable to maintain a passing GPA, they can be removed from the athletic period.
Be a positive example to teammates, parents, and the community wherever you go.
Maintain good training procedures including proper nutrition, hydration, rest, and injury management.
Commit to the character development and expectations given by the Patriot Track program.
Attend and participate in all practices and meets including those scheduled on a holiday. If you have to miss for any reason, leave or email a message for your coach explaining the reason for the absence.
Properly care for all equipment checked out to you. Missing equipment items will be paid for by the athlete.
Help keep all facilities used at school, other venues, and events clean.
Keep parents informed of all team activities. Check SportsYou regularly.
Be committed to your teammates, coaches, and the East View track program. Report on time to all team functions. Arrival at the practice start time is NOT on time.
Report all injuries to your coach for a referral to the trainers. Athletes/parents please let the coach and the trainers know you are injured BEFORE you go to the doctor.
Follow all UIL and Georgetown ISD athletic rules.
Failure to meet the team expectations may result in disciplinary action including suspension from meets and/or removal from the team.
If an athlete is to miss practice for any reason, they should contact your coach by email or phone. No exceptions!!!
If a team member has a conflict with another school activity, the athlete, the sponsor, and coach will discuss the situation and try to come to a compromise. If there is a conflict with an outside activity, Track will take priority.
