Ingredients:
1 handful fresh horehound leaves
1.5 cups water
2 lbs brown sugar
Butter (for greasing tins)

Instructions:
Place horehound leaves and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Let boil for 15 minutes.
Strain out the leaves and return the liquid to the pan.
Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
Cook gently without stirring until a small drop in cold water forms a hard, rubbery ball.
Remove from heat and pour the mixture into buttered tins.
Let cool until almost set, then cut into squares.1
