Helleborus orientalis
Description
Native to the Mediterranean region, Helleborus orientalis is a perennial that produces cup-shaped flowers in a variety of colors in late winter to early spring. Because its blooms often align with the 40-day period between Ash Wednesday and Easter known as Lent, it is commonly called Lenten-rose.
