Interventions for Managing Parenting and Cancer Team
Being a parent with cancer is difficult, and talking to children about it can feel overwhelming at times. In this workshop, we’ll look at these challenges and how you can support both yourself and your child when coping with cancer. Register for free here.
The Interventions for Managing Parenting and Cancer Team (IMPACT) and our Family Circle program by Elizabeth's Smile are specifically designed to support parents with cancer and their families during their cancer journey.
Led by Dr. Kenneth Tercyak, we are a team of health professionals at Georgetown University Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and MedStar Health who are dedicated to addressing the supportive care needs of parents with cancer.
IMPACT and Family Circle work in collaboration with MedStar's Palliative Care service, Psycho-Oncology service, and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry program to meet the psychosocial care needs of families impacted by cancer.
We will navigate you to resources and services for parents and children, including parenting support and child guidance.
If you would like to receive information and support through our Family Circle program, please contact us by email or phone and we will be happy to schedule an appointment.
For more information or to make a referral for service, email us at family.circle@georgetown.edu or call (202) 784-2248.Â
