A Conversation with Dr. Julielynn Wong, Founder/CEO of 3D4MD & Medical Makers
Tuesday, March 24th at 1:30pm
Join GAPS for a conversation with the Harvard educated physician-scientist and the founder/ CEO of 3D4MD and Medical Makers, Dr. Julielynn Wong. As a digital health pioneer she received her doctor at NASA before setting up her own organization that uses cutting-edge technology, including 3D printing to provide urgent medical equipment in remote areas (3D4MD) with limited access to healthcare resources.
In the case of COVID-19, the challenge is to figure out how one can use 3D printing to produce urgent ventilator equipment in short supply. 3D4MD will be at the forefront of this effort to improve efficiency in healthcare through a solar-powered mobile 3D printing system that can be transported in a carry-on suitcase to produce medical supplied in off-grid communities. 3D4MD normally relies on some 350 volunteers worldwide (college students and older) who do virtual volunteering work as members of the Medical Makers Club. Medical Makers is a global community of digital humanitarians who are working on COVID-19 related design, research, and administrative projects to save lives, time, and money.
