As part of the NWF Garden for Wildlife challenge in spring 2024, , the GU Community Garden transitioned to focus on growing pollinator-friendly plants that are native to the DC area. These plants are essential for keeping pollinators alive, provide habitats for animals, and are often hardier and require less care than non-native species.
