Sivanesan Dakshanamurthy (Siva) has a diverse background spanning across scientific fields, and includes physics, chemistry, computational science, biochemistry, and biology.
Siva started in the fields of physics, chemistry, and mathematics at the University of Madras. He then received a fellowship in engineering at the Patrice Lumumba Peoples Friendship University in Moscow, Russia.
Upon returning to India, Siva achieved a Masters degree in physics, and a Doctoral degree in the interdisciplinary areas of biochemisty, chemistry, and physics from Central Leather Research Institute (a premier national research institute) and the University of Madras.
In 2014, Dr. Dakshanamurthy founded the Journal of Theoretical and Computational Science (JTCS), for which he acts as founder, and Chief Editor. This journal looks at the application of experimental and computer science in solving scientific problems.
Siva has made significant contributions to the fields of molecular recognition and interaction. He worked with Dr. William J Welsh at the University of Missouri, St Louis, and with Prof. Nobuhiro Go laboratory in Japan, before joning Georgetown University Medical Center as a Medical Center Fellow. Currently he is an Associate Professor at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, located at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington DC.
