When planning a curriculum and daily lessons I have various stages I work through.
I think of a research question I want to address. I use the "How might we.." question structure to help me start my planning based on research and my knowledge of the topic I want to plan for.
I go for it! I have my students learn through the experience I have created and analyze the results or data I have collected.
Next, I use the This is Service Design Doing methods to help me figure out what it is I need to do to improve, change or keep in my curriculum.
I repeat the process when I see the need to iterate.
I start every class session by welcoming my students to class. I stand at the front of the door or as they walk in I greet them one by one.
Students open a ChromeBook and sign in to our Google Classroom.
We review the agenda for the day.
I explain what the project for the class session is.
Students can work independently, with a partner or within a group.
I follow up with students through out the class session and address any questions or misconception they have about the project or anything else.
