In the Rito Team, we have two new entrant classes. These classes are called Tahi and Rua. Our classrooms have a bi-folding door and we regularly collaborate with our learning.

In Room 1 (Tahi), the teacher is Mrs Michele Dakers. Michele is the Junior Team Leader. Mrs Sandra Gordon works in Room 1 on Thursdays while Mrs Dakers completes her management duties.

In Room 2 (Rua), the teacher is Miss Rhian Aitken. Ms Kate Atchison works in Rua every second Monday while Miss Aitken is released.

There are 5 other classes in the Rito Team: Room 4 (Year 2) with Miss Grace Dore, Room 5 (Year 2)  with Miss Evie Dore,  Room 7 (Year 1) with Mrs Paige Wilson, Room 8 (Year 3) with Mrs Joanne Wallis and Ms Tina Hsu, and Room 9 (Year 3) with Miss Farrin Quin.

At George Street Normal School we are unique in that we offer 'Model' classrooms. There are two Junior Models for children in years 1 - 3 and one Senior Models for children in years 4 - 6.  

Mrs Joanne Henderson and Mrs Rachael Hanson teach in Model 2B and Ms Jess Lovell teaches with in Model 1B.

Model 1B (Y1 - Y3) and Model 1A (Y4 - Y6)

Model 2B (Y1 - Y3)

The Models functions similar to a country school.  The Models foster a 'family atmosphere' in which older pupils help care for their younger classmates (i.e. they develop a tuakana/teina relationship).

As there are limited spaces in the Models classrooms, please indicate you are interested in this option by ticking the box on the top right-hand side of the enrolment form. Children can also start in the Models as New Entrants. Admission to the Models is at the discretion of the principal, Mrs Robyn Wood.
