Myrtle I is George Fox University's first Student Researched And Designed Liquid bi-propellant rocket. The rocket uses Isopropyl Alcohol and Nitrous Oxide for it's fuel and oxidizer. The rocket stands at 11.4" tall and is a 6" diameter airframe, and the target apogee based on simulations is 25,000" Above Ground Level (AGL). In 2024, the team attempted to launch at the Friends of Amateur Rocketry (FAR) site in California, however the launch had to be delayed due to ignition issues. Currently, a static fire is scheduled for Mid-November and the next launch attempt for Spring 2025.
