Using the library

We have lots of books, comics & manga for you to read.  You can borrow books to take home unless they have a red ‘Library Use Only’ or 'Reference' sticker. Comic books and magazines may also be taken home to read, please see Ms Stevens at the Library desk if you'd like to do this.

Borrowing Books

You can 1 book, for 2 weeks at a time. This is so we can make sure everyone has equal access to the library books.

• We will put the due date inside the book when you bring it to the desk to be issued to you.

• If you haven’t finished reading the book by the due date , then you can have it renewed for another 2 weeks. 

Returning Books

After 2 weeks your book will be due back in the Library. Pay attention to the date that is on the inside page, and make a note of it in your planner if you think you might forget. If you want to read it for longer then ask at the library if you can renew the book loan. 

• If there is nobody at the desk in the Library, then put it in the Returns Box by the quad doors.

• If you don’t return the book on time it will become overdue. You won’t be able to borrow any more books until you return it, and we will nag you about it as you are preventing other students from reading that book!

• Really overdue books will receive a letter home to your parents. You will be asked to pay for or replace missing or damaged books.

• Do not let your friends borrow a book in your name, or lend the book to them if you are the one that took it out. You are responsible for it!
