Dr. Ashis Kumar Saha is Professor in Remote Sensing and GIS. He did his M. Tech. in Applied Geology (1999) and Ph. D. (2004) from Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Roorkee. His research and teaching focuses are on geo-environmental applications of remote sensing-GIS, especially on natural hazards (landslide, drought), terrain modelling and land cover classification and change detection. He has published more than 20 research papers in various impact factor/peer-reviewed journals and books (h-index-9). He is a recipient of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Fellowship four times. Since 2022, he is serving as Secretary General of the National Association of Geographers, India (NAGI), the largest society of Geographers in India.
