Back in January & February, the Geneseo 8th graders completed the annual Super Hero Collaborative Portrait.
They are made with pencil first, then painted using acrylic paint. Students are encouraged to work together as a group matching up each square while working to ensure the final product lines up properly.
For this next lesson, Mr. A’s student teacher, Mr. Tschiderer teaches an advanced technique called pointillism. This is where artists use dots to create illusions using color. Challenge yourself to draw a tree using the pointillism technique.

After chatting with Mr. Loughlin, our pinball machines are on hold. In the meantime, we can all draw! I have 3 different videos that I made and put up on youtube that are extra fun projects that can be done on your own at home. The art materials in the video can be swapped out for anything you have at home markers for colored pencils, etc.
