Dear Parents,
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
It is important that students get to experience leadership opportunities during their school days. This helps them to learn the art of building relationships within teams and developing effective interpersonal and communication skills.
We will soon be inviting application for our student council. WSR believes that all students have the capability of being leaders. Throughout the school year we have tried to give our students every opportunity to lead and take responsibility.
Some of the events planned and organized by student leaders in this difficult academic year are listed below.
WSR MUN - Student MUN team organized the first edition of ‘Virtual WSR MUN’ which encouraged students to think critically and come up with solutions for some major world political and social issues.
WSR Speaks- We held another successful edition of, which was organized mainly by our students. This helped them be confident and responsible.
Student led assemblies – Student leaders led various assemblies this year. The well-being assembly was appreciated by our juniors. The student leaders conducted a survey after the assembly where increased screen time came up as a concern. We made sure that we reduced the screen time of secondary students.
Global Student Summit - Our student leaders registered and participated in the Global Student Summit held by Varkey Foundation
Ramadan Food Basket - Student leaders took an active part in this noble initiative encouraging their friends to give back to the society.
Apart from this our senior school student are also mentoring and guiding our younger students in a number of ways. They have many times come up with some amazing ideas and taken ownership and responsibility to complete it.
This proves that when students are given responsibility combined with the belief that they can succeed, they have everything they need to meet and exceed expectations.
Have a great week ahead :)
