Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year for Muslims. It is a time for Muslims to grow spiritually and morally as they practice self-restraint (with negative behavior), forgiveness, gratitude, and compassion for those less fortunate. We started our celebration for Ramadan at GIS on April, l1th. Students participated in a variety of events: reciting Quran, distributing flyers / badges and sharing some facts about this Holy month. During the month of Ramadan, the students in Islamic classes will have a variety of topic choices from the Islamic curriculum. Teachers organzied and shared these resources in an new electronic library. Islamic Studies students will be able to choose a topic of interest to learn more about, and complete a reflection each day. We are very excited about the reflective learning taking place during this month in our classrooms!
Please ask your child about their Ramadan experiences each week!
