Week Five - September 26th, 2025
Dear Parents,
Thank you for what has been an exciting week of connections across our community. From our meeting with Homeroom Parents to our Back to School Days, it has been a real pleasure to meet so many of you and to begin the year by strengthening partnerships between home and school.
Back to School Day
Our Back to School Day was a wonderful opportunity to open our doors and share student learning with families. We were delighted to see such a strong turnout from our Primary School parents overall.
These opportunities for parents and school to connect support student growth and wellbeing. Research consistently shows that students achieve more when schools and families work together. We want every parent at GIS to feel like an active, engaged member of our community.
We are attaching the group presentation for your reference:
Parent–Teacher Conferences
At the Primary School, we place great value on welcoming parents into the classroom. Being present in person allows parents to experience the classroom as the “third teacher,” see their child’s work firsthand, and strengthen positive relationships with teachers. For this reason, we strongly encourage in-person attendance whenever possible.
That said, we understand that some parents, particularly parents who have siblings at the Secondary, or those with personal circumstances may request an online meeting. In such cases, we will of course accommodate them by sharing a link. Please contact your class teacher to arrange for this meeting.
To book your appointment , please use this PTC Fast link
Note that bookings with specialist teachers will be on a first come first served basis.
Reminder: there will not be school on these two days. Should you have any further questions, please reach out to your homeroom teacher. We are looking forward to welcoming you
We wish you a lovely week-end.
Warm regards,
Mirna Hafez-Farah
Primary Principal
Events and Updates
Parents have all received a notification to sign up for the Toddle platform. This is an exciting enhancement to our parent communication, and this year you will receive weekly updates through the Toddle platform.
This IB affiliated platform will offer opportunities for parents to remain up to date with their child's academic progress.
The below class pages will host resources for parents and will no longer have weekly messages. All information will be sent through Toddle, so please inform your class teacher if you have any trouble registering.
