Week Nine - November 1st, 2024
Sarah McLean
Head of Primary
Dear Primary Parents,
We had a great week in PYP, full of celebrations, health initiatives, and school spirit, designed to foster our students' holistic growth and a sense of community.
This week, our Primary students are excited to kick off the Dubai 30x30 Challenge as we join the citywide campaign to promote fitness and well-being. We will continue encouraging all students to participate in various fun and engaging activities throughout the school day, inspiring them to build active habits. The next challenge is a dance challenge - please look out for a Toddle post from the PE team for details.
Yesterday we celebrated the PYP Autumn Festival hosted by our Student Leadership Team. The event featured a lively dance session in our brand-new Sports Hall, where students enjoyed a wonderful afternoon together, filled with energy and fun. Thank you to student leaders for their work getting this together!
Today, we will honored UAE Flag Day with a special commemorative flag-raising ceremony at exactly 11 a.m. Our Emirati students and staff members joined us to raise the flag and honor the beautiful country. The official UAE flag day is on November 3rd, and is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and show respect for the UAE’s rich heritage, which we proudly celebrate together.
Don't forget to check Toddle for the Weekly 30x30 challenge! Our PE team has put together a fun challenge for all families to try this week!
Looking ahead to next week:
Inter-house Competitions will commence during Primary break times, encouraging teamwork and friendly rivalry among our students. This launch is one of the many initiative that will take place to promote activity during the Dubai 30x30 Month.
On November 4, we invite students to dress up in colorful clothing in honor of the festival of lights. There will be a celebration at Gate 4 before school.
November 5th we will host a Coffee Morning for PYP parents with the PYP counselors with a focus on developing resilience
On November 8th, students are invited to dress up in Sports Gear as part of our Dubai 30x30 Initiative
Thank you for your continued support in making these events memorable for our students. We look forward to sharing these moments with your children as we celebrate, grow, and learn together.
Warm regards,
Sarah McLean
