Week Four - September 23rd 2022
Dear Parents,
One of the highlights of my week was a visit to my office from some special guests! Miss Tanja’s KG2 class were conducting a treasure hunt as part of their Unit of Inquiry ‘Who We Are’ and were trying to get to know the school better. They were very interested to see the student artwork in my office, noting that the youngest artists were Grade 2. Some of the students seem keen to become the first KG to have artwork on my wall, so the challenge is on!
I was pleased to represent the school at a special event this week, the Infinity des Lumières Interactive Gallery Exhibition of works by Gaudi, Kandinsky and Klee. I recommend this for all ages, as an immersive route into the minds of these artists. It really is a ‘son et lumière’ treat and is situated in the Dubai Mall. I would like to thank Mr Elsayed for the kind invitation.
I would like to thank Ms Sandy and team for producing an excellent ‘ConnectEd’ for parents curious about the Personal Project this week. Staff involved in the PP also enjoyed a presentation from Ms Sandy and this year’s supervisors of the projects are enthusiastic and ready!
I would like to thank our parents for your patience with traffic issues and reassure you that we are doing what we can to encourage RTA and Emaar, to push for deadlines, to look at road alterations and traffic flow (including direction) and work closely with our GEMS central experts. Another meeting was held yesterday at GIS and Mr Ranjit, our MSO, will be writing to you separately on this. Please read his letter. I expect to see impact soon and I fully understand all frustrations. I shall continue to update you.
May I wish you a lovely weekend.
