Week Thirty Seven - June 23rd, 2023
Kim Conlin
Head of Primary
We have reached the final newsletter of the academic year. Students will have a half day on Monday (dismissed at 12pm) and then we will head into summer vacation.
As the Head of Primary, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your commitment and support to our school. As an international school, we are proud of our diverse community that makes us unique, and provides the perfect environment for our students to excel and learn from different perspectives. As an international IB school, the IB learner profile guides our community, and we are in a constant quest to embody it. Our teachers and staff have demonstrated a strong commitment to the students and families, and I appreciate their hard work and dedication. This year, we welcomed many new families, and our community international ethos and values of respect, trust and ambition shines through. We have become one of the most popular schools in Dubai, and our IB curriculum is the fastest growing.
The first day of school for returning students is August 29th.
New student orientation is held on August 28th (this includes all 6th grade students next year).
Have a wonderful summer holiday, wherever you may be, and see you In August!

Today, grade 5 parents and students attended a clebration for the completion of the PYP! The event included speeches from Primary leaders, Secondary leaders and Student leaders. Songs by the choir as well as all grade 5 students, and of course the class performances. Music, dancing and refreshments followed with many photo opportunities. Congratulations to all the grade 5 students and families! Best wishes for the MYP.
This week marked a significant milestone for our PreK to Grade 5 students as they celebrate their Step Up Day! This day is designed to build up their excitement for the upcoming year and ease any worries they may have.
Throughout the special sessions, our students have the opportunity to visit the classrooms of the grade above them (not necessarily the classroom or the teacher they will be with next year). They engage in interactive sessions, learning about the exciting experiences and curriculum that await them in the next grade. This hands on approach allows them to get a glimpse of what their next grade will look like and fuels their anticipation and may settle some worries.
By experiencing their future grade levels and connecting with teachers from that grade, we aim to create a sense of enthusiasm and confidence in our students as they transition to the next grade.
We're thrilled to see their excitement and can't wait for the remarkable year ahead!
