Grade 10
Students this week have been busy putting the final touches to their Music performances! The students have been working hard over the past few weeks to rehearse a song as a band to perform for their peers in class as part of their assessments. The students' final performances were excellent and showed their dedication and love of music.
Grade 9
This week marked the end of grade 9’s second unit in Textiles. During this unit, students were tasked with designing and making a fashionable reusable shopping bag that featured an element of ‘Art’. The students have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks bringing their designs to life and I am sure you will agree that their hard work has paid off! Pictured are just some of the great products that has been created by these talented students.
Grade 6
The Grade 9 students recently had an extraordinary hands-on learning experience in their science class, delving into the fascinating world of anatomy by dissecting sheep eyes. This engaging activity allowed them to explore the intricate structure of the eye, from the cornea to the retina, and understand its functions in vivid detail. The students' enthusiasm was palpable as they uncovered the complexities of vision, making the lesson both educational and memorable. This practical approach to learning not only deepened their knowledge but also sparked curiosity and excitement about the interconnected wonders of biology and physics, as they explored how the eye's structure enables the complex process of vision.
Grade 9
The Grade 9 students are working on their final projects of the year: dystopian circus. In this project, the students will use all practical skills that they've been taught throughout the grade 9 near and apply it to a final installation for the MYP arts exhibition. This week the student sculptors are sculpting their circus figures and our architects are creating architectural models of famous buildings that will act as the circus performers’ setting. Not only are they applying skill development and creating for assessment, they are also working on the ATL social skill by effectively collaborating with their team. Looking forward to seeing all their hard work come together!
