Week Thirty Two - May 30th, 2025
Dear Parents & Guardians
Last Saturday night, our graduating Class of 2025 traded books for bow ties and exams for elegance as they arrived in style at the Shangri-La Hotel for their much-anticipated Prom celebration. It was an evening full of sparkle, laughter, and just the right amount of nostalgia as students danced the night away and celebrated the friendships and memories that have shaped their journey. It was wonderful to see students relax and enjoy themselves after a very busy few months.
While our Grade 12s were dancing the night away, our Grade 11 students were deep in exam mode, bringing the same level of determination and grit to their end-of-year assessments. We’ve been incredibly impressed by their focus and resilience throughout the exam period, well done to all! We hope you enjoy a well-earned breather during the upcoming mid-term break.
A quick reminder to that as the DP and CP are two-year programmes, classes will resume on June 9th, and new content will continue to be introduced through to the end of term. We appreciate your support in ensuring full attendance during this important phase of learning.
Meanwhile, the future of Secondary is already warming up. This week, our Grade 5 Transition programme continued with our Panel of Experts assembly, featuring a group of “experts” from Grade 6 who answered questions about life in Secondary school. Huge thanks and congratulations to Sophie, Liv, Eric, Yohan, and Maha who spoke with such honesty, humour, and wisdom. Our incoming students are in great hands, and clearly, very capable ones!
As we approach the final stretch of the academic year, I would just like to remind parents of some important points:
We are a vape-free school: Vape use poses serious health risks and will not be tolerated. Any student found using or carrying a vape will face immediate disciplinary action, which includes suspension. Please speak with your child about the seriousness of this issue and support us in keeping our campus safe.
A gentle reminder that our mobile phone policy remains in place: phones should be switched off and kept out of sight during the school day. If a student uses their phone during school hours, it will be held at the office and returned at the end of the day. To help this policy succeed, we kindly ask parents to avoid calling or messaging their child during the school day. Limiting screen time supports deeper focus, meaningful social interaction, and overall student wellbeing.
Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us uphold these expectations.
As a reminder to families, next week is Mid term Break and the Eid Al Adha holiday. Please note that school will resume on Monday June 9th.
Enjoy the week ahead.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
Head of Secondary School
