Week Thirty One - May 23rd, 2025
Dear Parents & Guardians
Our Grade 11 students have officially stepped into their end-of-year exams. We’re incredibly proud of how far they’ve come and confident in their ability to face this challenge with focus and determination. Whether they’re sharpening pencils or firing up laptops, we’re cheering them on every step of the way.
But this week, the spotlight shines especially bright on our Class of 2025.
The celebrations began with a heartfelt Final Assembly, where students and staff gathered to honour not just academic achievement, but the resilience, growth, and spirit that have defined this exceptional year group. The atmosphere was made even more special with two beautiful piano performances from Daniel and Nigora, and a show-stopping rendition of We Will Survive by Aaliyah, supported masterfully by Yalda on piano. Thank you to all of the students who contributed to this wonderful celebration.
Following the assembly, the Class of 2025 made their way to the Senior Hub for a shared breakfast and a flurry of final photos. Soon after, they donned their graduation caps and gowns for their much-anticipated Senior Walk, a moment of pure pride and reflection. As they passed through the corridors many have walked for the past seven years, they were met with cheers, applause, and warm wishes from our entire GIS community. It was a powerful celebration of all they’ve accomplished and the lasting mark they’ve made.
Today, we gathered at The Fairmont on The Palm for a truly memorable Graduation Ceremony, an afternoon filled with emotion, heartfelt speeches, and a deep sense of pride. Surrounded by family, friends, and mentors, our graduands crossed the stage with grace and confidence, ready to embrace the future that awaits. The ceremony was a testament to their hard work, their growth, and the unwavering support of the community around them. Our sincere thanks go to Ms Burcu, Mr Ged, Ms Meena, Mr Conor, and Mr Lewis for the countless hours dedicated to this week’s events and for guiding this remarkable cohort toward every measure of success.
And because no grand finale is complete without a little sparkle, the festivities wrap up tomorrow evening with Prom, a final chance for the Class of 2025 to celebrate each other and the unforgettable moments they’ve shared.
It was wonderful to see the GIS community come together to share the celebrations with our Class of 2025!
Enjoy the week ahead.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
