Week Three - September 13th, 2025
Dear Parents,
It has been such a pleasure meeting many of you over coffee last Thursday and during our Grade 5 Meet and Greet on Friday. These moments of connection are so valuable, and we are looking forward to more opportunities to come together in the weeks ahead. Please see below for upcoming Meet and Greet dates for each grade level.
In the Classrooms
We are now three weeks into the school year, and the energy in the classrooms is fantastic! Students have already begun engaging deeply in their learning.
Last week, we held our first assembly with Grades 4 and 5, and this week we continued with Grades 2 and 3. Assemblies are a meaningful part of our school life, they allow us to come together as a community to reflect on our shared values, discuss school expectations, and celebrate achievements. We also took time to warmly welcome our new students and reassure them that we’re all here to help them feel at home. We focused on three key values: "Be safe, be kind, and be respectful." These are important expectations we encourage all students to follow every day, both in and out of the classroom. We have also emphasised the importance of treating one another with care and respect, and shared our behavior expectations with the students to help build a positive and supportive school environment.
Parent Volunteers
At this time of year, we invite parents to volunteer in their child’s classroom. Your support and partnership are invaluable in creating a rich learning experience for our students. Please read The Role of a Home Room Parent 2025/6 for more information.
If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up here. The deadline for volunteering is Tuesday the 16th of September. Should you be selected you will receive a confirmation email by Friday the 19th September. Our meeting will take place on Monday the 22nd of September at 9:00 am. A big thank you in advance for your support!
Important Reminder: Allergies
We have several students with severe, potentially life-threatening allergies particularly to nuts. As part of our commitment to student safety, all GEMS schools promote a nut-free environment.
While we recognise that it's not always possible to guarantee a completely nut-free setting due to the wide variety of foods students may bring, we strongly encourage all families to avoid sending any snacks or lunches that contain nuts.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep all students safe and healthy.
Back-to-School Information Sessions
Please save the date for our upcoming information sessions, taking place on September 24, 25, or 26. More details will follow soon.

Events and Updates
Parents have all received a notification to sign up for the Toddle platform. This is an exciting enhancement to our parent communication, and this year you will receive weekly updates through the Toddle platform.
This IB affiliated platform will offer opportunities for parents to remain up to date with their child's academic progress.
The below class pages will host resources for parents and will no longer have weekly messages. All information will be sent through Toddle, so please inform your class teacher if you have any trouble registering.
