Week Twenty Nine - May 9th, 2025
Dear Parents & Guardians
Our scholarship interviews commenced this week which are always a highlight of the year. These conversations with potential scholars offer us a chance to really connect with our students, beyond the classroom, and hear what drives them, what inspires them, and what goals they’re chasing. It’s a privilege to learn more about each applicant’s journey and celebrate their many talents, whether academic, athletic, service or creative.
Today also marks the launch of our first-ever GIS Model United Nations (MUN) conference, a major milestone for our school. Congratulations to Elisavet and Zainab (G10) for their vision and leadership in organising this inaugural event. A huge thank you to Ms Helen, Ms Michaela, and Ms Rena for their guidance and support throughout the planning process. We’re incredibly proud to see our students stepping into global roles, debating big issues, and learning how to lead with empathy and insight.
We also held a special Grade 5 to 6 Transition Assembly this week, designed to support our younger students as they prepare to step into Secondary. They heard from key members of our team, including our Secondary Counsellor, Ms Twinkle and Mr Fred, our Head of Student Wellbeing, who shared insights about what to expect and how to thrive in the next chapter of their learning journey. It was one of many such sessions, which are thoughtful and reassuring that help ease anxieties and build excitement for what lies ahead.
We again send our best wishes to our Grade 12 students continuing with their IB World Exams. Not long to go now!
Enjoy the week ahead.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
Head of Secondary School
